  2. Did you post about this before at the beginning of the story last year? I remember reading about the initial car park investigations.

    1. I think we're going to have to wait another 24 hours or so before we know Pet. Exciting isn't it ...

  4. I watched the University of Leicester press conference live on TV ... the most exciting and tense bit of television I have seen in a long time! Brilliant.

  5. What a sad end for a king, perhaps he will get a decent burial now.My 14th great grandfather The Duke of Norfolk died at Bosworth on the same day.And no I didn't believe it either Charlie I have my Grandmother to thank for that branch. I'm much happier with my miner and farming roots.Ann

    1. I'm looking forward to watching the Channel 4 programme about the skeleton later this evening.

I'm impressed that you're descended from such a noble family Ann. The best I can do is say that my 14th grandfather [I think it was 14th] fought at the Battle of Agincourt [25 October 1415] ~ this was Thomas Beresford of Fenny Bentley ~ the one with the shrouded tomb. Interestingly Bosworth was fought on the 22 August 1485 some 70 years after Agincourt.

Have you traced your family tree by the way ~ I have probably asked you this before.

  6. Yes Charlie I have traced some of my tree, you do some times wonder if you are on the right track.I have tried to find the Wildgoose side but it gets difficult in places.Francis Wildgoose born 1823 was my 1st cousin 4 removed,he was landlord of the Lathkil at Over Haddon in 1871 census. Love the fact your ancestor was at the Battle of Agincourt.Ann

    1. Yes, the Agincourt link is a bit of a thrill for me as you can imagine. Still, I would like to know more about my direct male line.

  7. It was actually on the news in our wee village here in the interior of British Columbia. A lady in Victoria is excited because it proves her relationship to him, and her genealogical work.
