Chatsworth ~ Beyond Limits ~ 2012/6

Exhibit No. 6 of the Beyond Limits exhibition at Chatsworth [which is still running] is 'Composition' by Barry Flanagan ...

Beyond Limits ~ 2012 ... exhibit number 6

'Composition' didn't inspire me as you may be able to tell from these photos ...

... or perhaps I'm just not quite in the right frame of mind just now.

  1. Hmmmm....a combination of elements from some of the previous exhibits. No, doesn't do much for me either, I'm afraid!!

    1. As Mitch says it's got elements of different sculptures in it ...

As for me Ann, I'm doing ok. I'm not being allowed to do much, which is frustrating but probably the best thing in the circumstances. If it was a miserable day it might be easier to cope with.

    1. I can imagine the weather will take a turn for the worse when I'm feeling fit enough to walk Ann.

  5. Not one of my favorites either. Why do his elephants always look unfinished?

    1. I'm not sure ~ perhaps the TV programme I'm going to watch may help.

    1. I have since found a couple of other photos of this which I will try and post in a few days or so ... not that they add much to 'Composition' Pet.

  7. Maybe it was the combination. I loved the hare poses and especially like elephant statues of any kind. There does seem to be a disharmony. But I appreciate the artistic parts of the whole.

    1. I love hares and hare poses. As I have mentioned in replying to someone else I have found two or three more photos of this sculpture which may put it in a different light. I'll post them in a week or so ...

  8. PS......I am out on a favorite nephew's ranch in Alberta for Canadian Thanksgiving. I haven't caught up my blog yet. But I thought of you several times this week, and put up a few prayers for you and Natasha. But what triggered that was when we stopped in a super-market in Fort McLeod Alberta and your lovely Adele was playing in the background. She brought you to mind and over to the ranch for the feast today at 2:00. I love doing the big ranch family dinners, but they are a lot of work. I am in the age/era now that does most of the feast work. The young mothers look after their babies and we go for walks and play with them outside, the oldest family members like Old Man Watching are allowed to go for naps, the middle-aged show up with donations for the feast, and it all works out somehow. Old Man's 80 year old sister did most of the cooking and I did most of the bottle washing. We call it the "Chief Cook and Bottle Washer" brigade. Well somebody had to be organizers. We are making turkey soup now with the leftover bones and hard to slice bits of meat.

    1. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers Karyn ~ they are much appreciated. Whilst I am 'recovering', Natasha is busy tidying out the garage ~ it's not a good environment for me [she says] ... and who am I to argue ?

As for family dinner I envy you. Our family dinner is quite a small to-do ... it would have been nice to have had one or two others [who have gone before] join us.

Enjoy that turkey soup ~ it sounds delicious.
