Size matters ! At least when it comes to Barry Flanagan's hares ...
We're down to the penultimate exhibit ~ 'Large Nijinski on Anvil Point' ...
I said it was large didn't I ...

Here's a question, are these bronze sculptures solid ?
I think they got the positioning of this sculpture right too ~ at the far end of the Canal Pond. At the other end is the house itself ...

There this Nijinski Hare stands, balanced on an anvil point ...

... dancing ...

Excellent.
Yes, this one works for me. I really like it!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what it is about it that appeals. The fact that it is so impossible on so many levels perhaps ?
DeleteI like it... but it would be a tad too large for my backyard.
ReplyDeleteIt would certainly be too big for my backyard *and* my garden ...
DeleteI like this one, love the name Anvil Point. It is a lighthouse in Dorset and walked by it on Wednesday.Ann
ReplyDeleteQuite a coincidence ...
DeleteI'm having a reaction to the hare sculptures that really came out of no where. They increasingly remind me of an old boyfriend. 'Nuff said.
ReplyDeleteWell there's only one more to go ...
DeleteOh, yes. This is much more like it.
