Chatsworth ~ Beyond Limits ~ 2012/11 ...

Just four more to go after this one. Will this last handful of sculptures save the day ? How many hares will feature ?

To start the last third of the exhibits we have Empire State with Bowler - Mirrored ...

Once again I am underwhelmed I'm afraid ...

I can see that they're 'fun' ...

... but now the hares look half-starved ...

The position is wrong for them too, in my opinion. They should be in front of a large privet hedge so they contrast with the hedge. Instead they're in front of a busy background ...

I keep wondering if we're supposed to compare them with King Kong ...

... but all I can do is post this final photograph so that you get some idea of the scale of the actual sculptures.

  2. I don't like this hare, much to skinny and looks like a child's plasticine model.Ann

    1. The hares are a bit 'amateurish' this time around aren't they Ann.

  3. Isn't that strange...I always thought they were larger.
Can't say as I'm very thrilled with this scrawny hare. He needs to stop running and eat.

    1. They're all different sizes River. This pair are rather on the skinny side though.

    1. I think they're probably both bowlers running down the cricket pitch to bowl to an unseen batsman. OK, they don't have a ball :-)

  5. I like these fellows, Charlie. They immediately made me smile, even though the Empire State connection was lost on me until you mentioned King Kong. They do look like they're about to deliver a fast ball to the wicket. I, too, thought they were a lot bigger than they are, so thanks for the perspective shot!

    1. I thought I'd include some humans to give some scale. Like you I was surprised at their smallness when I first saw them Jenny.

  6. You would make a great art critic. You "tell it as you sees it".

  7. That is maybe a local expression usually used to say, "He tells it as he sees it."
