Charlie Wildgoose ... senior

The link below should take you to a photo of my grandfather, Charlie Wildgoose, standing beside a binder being pulled by a pair of horses.

I rather like this.

The link is here !

  1. This looks familiar. Did you already post this one? Or perhaps I saw it on your Flickr page.

    1. I'm not sure Mitch ... I know it's on Facebook but you're not on there are you. I don't think it's on Flickr though so it may be that I've posted it already ... and I'm starting to repeat myself !

  2. There is some horse power on that photo, they look so huge next to the man standing.

    1. They're beauties aren't they. I wonder how Grandad felt when they replaced the horses with tractors ... and what happened to them. It must have been one of those days on the farm when things changed fairly drastically.

  3. That's an impressive image, Charlie. Have you ever thought of giving copies of your historic photographs to a local museum or heritage society?

    1. Thank you Pet. As regards giving copies to a local museum, the Manager of the Bakewell Old House Museum is a Facebook friend and she knows that she can always ask me for [or copy] any of the photographs I post. She sometimes shares some of my blogs [which show up on Facebook] with her friends.
