Whilst walking up out of Rowsley yesterday towards Fallinge we noticed a bird beside the footpath signpost ...
Surely it would move as we stood there and talked about it. It didn't ...
Surely it would move when I walked right past it to take a photo of the signpost ? It didn't ...
We left it alone and surmised that it was ill. Hopefully there would be no loose dogs in the area later in the day.
Did you post this just for me...?
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say ... if it makes you happy I'll say 'yes'.
ReplyDeleteAssuming you're an expert why do you think the chicken was doing this. Could it have 'issues', y'know ~ hiding from the world ?
[I probably won't be replying straight away River as I'm going to be doing something else now ...]
More than likely it was taking a nap far from it's roost. Rather a strange place to do that....but you never can tell with a chicken. (o;
DeleteLOL.. Its head is hidden.. sleeping... or is it???
ReplyDeleteWe will never know Barbara ...
DeleteMaybe it was hoping it didn't have to cross the road :-))
ReplyDeleteIt was going the right way about it ...
DeleteJust chickin'.......
ReplyDeleteI suppose that now and a hen these birds have their crises ...
DeleteJust chickin'.......
ReplyDeleteMost peculiar behaviour for a chicken. I think I'd have had to have picked it up and taken it with me - just in case I happened upon a farm with chickens along the route - it's more than likely it has a sense of adventure and got lost. I guess it's also possible that it was taken by a fox that managed to lose it along the route - and it just can't find it's way home and/or is injured. If all else failed, I'd have dropped it off at a vet!
ReplyDeleteI would perhaps have investigated a bit more Jenny if I hadn't been warned to avoid getting scratched [and infected] by animals in view of my leg thing ...
Delete... having taken care therefore to avoid the chicken I then went and scratched my leg on a bramble that raked across the back of my leg half an hour later. The 'blood' was rather more runny than normal.
