Chatsworth ~ two more sculptures ... and a wooden seat.

I'm just about finished with the photographs I took at Chatsworth in September of this year.

There are some sculptures that are permanent and there are some seats that are probably less though.

Here are two examples of the former and one of the latter ...

Quite a contrast between the three pieces but I rather like them all though my particular favourite is the one in the middle.

  1. I like both of the sculptures, both very good, in differing ways. I'm always partial to wooden benches that are a 'little bit more' than just something to sit on.

    1. Once again Mitch the 'resident' sculptures are better than the ones in the 'Beyond Limits' exhibition.

I like the seat as well. The only slight grumble I have is that the seat is a bit too near the ground !

  2. I vote for the bench. You have made me into a bench afficianado. I just want to know all about them and who made them and why. I want some one to make a stone cut slab of one for me when I die and put it in one of my favorite viewing spots, or fishing spots.

    1. The bench is so naive, you've just got to love it. I'm glad I've converted you. I do wonder where [whether ?] I'll have a seat placed remembering me ... I hope so. Perhaps I should leave instructions. But where should it be sited ?

I've seen a stone slab like yours just below Curbar Gap and I think the photo has appeared on Multiply.

    1. You're right Ann, the bench is too low. Someone else [on Facebook] said the head was by Elisabeth Frink too.
