Chatsworth ~ Beyond Limits ~ 2012/7

We're nearly half way through ... and the theme is still largely hares.

Exhibit No. 7 is 'Sculler' ...

There is something rather absurd isn't there about a hare in a boat ... but I can see the fun in it ...

I went for a reflection initially before getting in a little closer ... and I did wonder whether it is a hare.

I decided Sculler looks worried, possibly because he finds himself in a boat on the Ring Pond at Chatsworth ...

  1. And Sculler's ear appears to have a spine in it... which I don't quite understand!

I haven't managed to catch up with the documentary yet, but I'm keen to understand why Barry Flanagan is quite so obsessed with hares

    1. Yes, I noticed the thing in the ear. I'm hoping to watch the Barry Flanagan programme too. Perhaps everything will become clearer then.

    1. Yes Ann ~ it's not one of his better hares is it. I wonder whether it might ave something to with the 'skull' ... 'sculler' ... or is that too deep ?

  3. It looks like a hare-donkey hybrid.

Well, if the owl and the pussycat can do it, why not this guy?

I think I like this one..........

  4. Someone needs to rustle up a few carrots for these poor hares. They're getting thinner and thinner...

  5. Maybe he was just getting tired of the hare theme and not putting as much into them anymore. Or maybe he was just tired. I will be interested to know what you learn from the documentary.

  8. Oh I like this. Yes, he does look a bit worried - but, mind you, a hare would be worried being sat in a boat on water. I mean, hares aren't renowned for their swimming ability!

    1. I'm glad you agree with me that he or she looks worried. I wonder if hares do the doggy paddle ?

    2. LOL Only in moments of sheer desperation, I'd imagine. ;)

    3. It is surprising what animals can swim ... I wonder if every animal can ? Now there's a thought.
