Great British Walk - Ilam Park

One of my favourite places [we were there over the weekend] is Ilam Hall in the Peak District.
It's a National Trust property in marvellous countryside.

  1. The video seems unwilling to co-operate. I got ten seconds then it stopped and refused to budge.

  2. That's strange ~ I've just watched it on my iPad, which isn't always cooperative, and it was fine.

  3. I returned again this morning for another try......this time it worked fine!! Nice area, I like the idea of climbing that flat-topped hill.

    1. Glad it worked this time Mitch. Thorpe Cloud looks like a pyramid from one side and from the Ilam side it is flat topped ~ weird. I've been up it once in rather icy weather. Now it was fine getting up there but coming down wasn't quite so much fun ...

  4. What a beautiful area....
I'll say it again, you're so fortunate to live there.

    1. I have met two Yorkshire couples walking in Derbyshire in the last fortnight ~ Yorkshire is just the next county to us in Derbyshire. Both couples [in their late middle age and then some] said they had never really visited or walked in Derbyshire ... and couldn't get over how beautiful it is. Quite an admission from Yorkshire folk ...
