Darley Dale Wildlife: Another Osprey at Rowsley

It's amazing what there is about ... who would have thought it ? An osprey less that three miles away.

Darley Dale Wildlife: Another Osprey at Rowsley: Ken Smith found another Osprey this afternoon, initially hunting over the short stretch of canal that feeds Caudwells Mill at Rowsley before...

    1. I haven't seen them Ann ~ it's only the regular birdwatchers like Andy and Ken who spot these birds. I did see an osprey in Scotland once ... saw it catching a fish too.

  2. More marvellous photographs!! Beautiful shots of a beautiful bird. There is a Red Kite feeding station about 35 miles from here, I really must get up there this summer and try to photograph them.

    1. I thought you might like these Mitch. If the Red Kite feeding station is the one that appears on TV from time to time then I'm sure you will get some great photos.

  3. Ospreys are common here, but I didn't realize you had them in England too.

    1. They're not common Karyn but we have them and they're steadily increasing in number.

  4. I didn't realize that they were not common to your area, Charlie. We have nests of them, each year, only a few km away.

    1. They are quite uncommon in the UK ... possibly even rare. You're lucky to have so many Pet.
